Cynthia N. Steimle, MD, FACS
Dr. Steimle was born in Aurora, Illinois, and is a graduate of West Aurora High School. She then attended Northwestern University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1982. She went to the University of Michigan Medical School, graduating cum laude in 1986. She completed residencies in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery and a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care and ECMO, all at the University of Michigan Hospitals. She has been practicing in the area since 1995.
She is the former Chief of Surgery at Sherman Hospital and is former Medical Staff President and an ongoing member of the Medical Executive Committee at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. Dr. Steimle is triple Board Certified in Surgery, (Cardio) thoracic Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. She has been performing open heart surgery, complex blood vessel surgery, and intricate chest surgery for over 20 years.
