Cynthia N. Steimle, MD, FACS

Dr. Steimle was born in Aurora, Illinois, and is a graduate of West Aurora High School. She then attended Northwestern University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1982. She went to the University of Michigan Medical School, graduating cum laude in 1986. She completed residencies in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery and a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care and ECMO, all at the University of Michigan Hospitals. She has been practicing in the area since 1995.

She is the former Chief of Surgery at Sherman Hospital and is former Medical Staff President at Amita St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. Dr. Steimle is triple Board Certified in Surgery, (Cardio) thoracic Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. She has been performing open heart surgery, complex blood vessel surgery, and intricate chest surgery for over 25 years.

Jeff Arbotante, R.D.M.S, R.V.T., R.V.S

Jeff Arbotante is a Registered Vascular Specialist, a Registered Vascular Technologist and a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Jeff was an adjunct instructor for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at Triton College and was involved in the Vascular Sonography program at the College of DuPage prior to coming to The Vein and Laser Center of Elgin Cardiac Surgery. Jeff has his Master’s degree in Health Services Administration and is pursuing a Masters degree in Business Administrations from the University of St. Francis. He has worked since 2000 in sonography for many area hospitals and imaging centers.

Luba Nikolova-Dundarova, R.V.T

Luba Nikolova-Dundarova is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and a Registered Vascular Technologist. She received a BA/BS in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Sofia in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 2005. She attended the College of DuPage where she received her Associates Degree in Sonography. She has trained at Roseland Community Hospital, the University of Illinois Hospital, and Presence Mercy Hospital. She continues to work at Holy Cross Hospital where she gains valuable sonography experience. She was hired by the Vein and Laser Center in 2014. Her primary responsibility is to provide ultrasound guidance to Dr. Steimle while she is performing Endovenous Ablation varicose vein procedures.

Rebecca Hampton, BSN, RN

Rebecca “Bea” Hampton began working as a Registered Nurse since 1997. She started working part time for the Vein and Laser Center in 2008 doing cosmetic laser treatments. During this time she gained valuable nursing experience at area hospitals. She has a certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. She began working full time at our practice in 2015. She received her Bachelor’s in Science and Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2016. Her main responsibility is providing support to Dr. Steimle regarding our varicose/vascular and wound patients.

“I like to interact with patients. All of them have a story to tell. I want to take care of others as I hope someone will take care of me when I need it.”
