Broad Band Light Skin Treatments and Laser Hair Reduction
Hair reduction can be achieved by light based technology including laser hair reduction with Broad Band Light (BBL). We utilize the state of the art Sciton BBL technology that targets hair follicles for the purpose of selectively destroying them while leaving the surrounding tissue (skin) intact. The purpose of the BBL hair reduction procedure is to diminish unwanted hair from the face and or body. Hair that is in the active growing phase when the Laser hair reduction or BBL hair reduction treatment is performed does not come back once it is killed, but new hair growth may occur from follicles that were not in the active growing phase. Additional sessions are recommended to remove these new follicles to achieve the desired amount of hair reduction.
BBL hair reduction is a very safe procedure. The procedure, however, should be as administered in a medical licensed facility by a certified, experienced provider. BBL Hair Reduction is safe to be used on all body parts, including the face, neck, décolletage, back, underarms, bikini line, legs and arms.
Our technician will discuss with you any medications to avoid prior to treatment. While there have been no studies evaluating hair reduction in pregnant women, BBL hair reduction is not recommended for pregnant women. BBL hair reduction is not indicated in areas of tattoos since the laser looks for pigment, and may cause burns in the area of a tattoo or cause fading of the tattoo. You should avoid sunbathing, tanning beds and self-tanning products prior to and after BBL hair reduction treatments.
